Cooperation of the Metallurgical Plant and Water Circulation System Service Business Unit started in 2014 from complex energy inspection (inspection of heat and power supply networks) and inspection of water services. The following types of work were carried out within the framework of this cooperation:
In 2015 pilot tests of reagents were performed with respect to the water-circulation circuit of the oxygen compressor shop.

Based on the inspection results a report was prepared and recommendations were issued indicating corrective measures aimed at solving the identified problems.
Complex application of reagents allowed to accomplish identified goals for reducing corrosion and scaling processes, biological fouling and also ensured compliance with standard operating parameters of compressor equipment and prevention of clogging of heat exchange equipment.
Based on results of pilot industrial tests a program was developed for reagent treatment of the water-circulation circuit of the oxygen compressor shop, which was implemented in 2015 and has been held to the present day.
Pilot tests of reagents of Water Circulation System Service Business Unit were performed at the circulating water supply unit in accordance with prepared and approved program of pilot testing.

On application of Scimol WS-2906 corrosion inhibitor the average corrosion rate of carbon steel was 0.0921 mm / year, which conforms to the standard value (not more than 0.1 mm / year); the average value of corrosion rate of brass was 0.0076 mm / year, which conforms to the standard value (not more than 0.05 mm / year).
The average value of hardness transport index was 0.92 on application of Descum-2 H-3907-C scaling inhibitor during testing period; that indicates a low probability of carbonate deposits in the heat exchange equipment and pipelines.
On complex application of Atren-bd 4903A biodispersant and Atren-bio 4907 biocides and the average level of biocontamination (total microbial count) was approximately 10^4 CFU/ml, which conforms to the standard value (total microbial count less than 10^5 CFU/ml).
In January 2015 dosing of reagents produced by Water Circulation System Service Business Unit was organized at the units of circulating water supply.
Recession of level of biological contamination of circulating water, as evidenced by the analysis of the R&D Shop, as well as no new biological fouling is visualized in the cooling towers and also currently used reagents wash old biological and carbonate deposits in the cooling towers.
Even subject to a high degree of mineralization of circulating water (electrical conductivity is up to 5000 m S/cm, chloride content is up to 1200 mg/l), the old carbonate deposits in the cooling towers got crumbly and could be washed.
