Flotation of coal sludge

 Introduction of powered systems and hydraulic production in mines, associated with increased production volumes, leads to increased levels of ash content and the content of fine grains in coal. As a result, produced coal does not meet the requirements for the main quality indicators: ash content, humidity, heat content and sintering properties. 

Use of coal preparation methods enables improvement of the feed coal quality.

Flotation is a coal preparation process based on the difference of physical and chemical characteristics of the surface of coal and rock particles allowing to separate flotation concentrate with low ash content from fine coal sludge (smaller than 0.5 mm).

In order to increase the efficiency of coal sludge flotation, "Water circulation system service" Business Unit offers the supply of chemicals of own production:

• Unicol flotation agents ensuring an increase of flotation concentrate yield and reduction in its ash content for all types of coal;
• Seurvey flocculants and C series Decleave-M coagulants ensuring reduction of cake moisture content and increasing productivity of vacuum and tape filters;
• and supply and installation of automated dosing system for flotation agents.
