Depressor additives of the Dewaxol ™ line are specially selected compositions based on surfactants and copolymers in a hydrocarbon solvent.
Grades:
The additive can be used both in a supplied form heated to a temperature of 50-70°C and in the form of a solution in diesel fraction (or other hydrocarbon solvents), heated to a temperature of 40-50°C. The additive is injected into a hot * (above 60°C) flow of processed petroleum product.
Chemicals are delivered in plastic or metallic barrels, in IBC containers by road or rail, in railway tanks, as well as in bulk to a consumer's container. Dewaxol ™ can be dosed into a petroleum product line at an installation or in a tank farm, or directly into a stock tank. This chemical is selected individually for each specific fuel.

A decrease in the temperature of petroleum products (middle distillates and fuel oils) leads to the formation of wax crystals. Crystals form a closed system, leading to a loss of pour point properties. One of the most economical ways to reduce the pour point / congelation and improve the rheological properties of transported distillates and fuel oils is the use of depressants.
The principle of action of the additive is based on the absorption of depressant molecules on the surface of the formed wax crystals with decreasing temperature, preventing further crystal growth. Due to that, the wax crystals do not coarsen, the gel formation is reduced when temperature drops , the pour point and the congelation temperature of the petroleum product are decreased.
A depressant additive for diesel fuel can be used in its commercial form when heated to a temperature of 50–70˚C, as well as in the form of solutions in a diesel fraction (or other hydrocarbon solvents) heated to a temperature of 40–50˚C. The additive is added into the hot (above 60˚C) stream of the processed petroleum product.
Recommendations: The lowest required temperature of the processed petroleum product is determined by the fusing temperature of waxes included in it, as well as the possibilities of providing effective mixing of the fuel with the additive (availability of mixing machinery, viscosity of the petroleum product at the temperature of the additive feeding). Additive dosages have a sufficiently wide range (100 - 2000 g/t) and depend on the fractional and the group composition of the processed petroleum product, particularly on molecular-mass distribution of waxes and their quantity in the product. Effective dosages are determined in the course of laboratory and experimental tests.
